The Iraq Report: Turkey threatens to invade Iraq
Source:The New Arab Date:31Mar2018
This report explains Turkey-Baghdat relations, PKK’s recent moves, Iraiq Kurds and the War on ISIS. Very good background and analysis:
Although Turkish-Iraqi relations have improved dramatically since the Iraqi Kurdish independence bid late last year, things appear to be heating up again as Ankara has threatened a military intervention in Sinjar, northern Iraq.
The Islamic State group has meanwhile been able to maintain its low intensity – but no less deadly – operations in Iraq, raising concerns that Baghdad’s strategy for dealing with the militants is at best faltering and at worst failing.
